I'm going to start by saying that self-care isn’t selfish, indulgent, or optional. It’s foundational, imperative even — especially during times of change, when lots of things in life might feel uncertain. And you don't need permission from anyone else to put yourself and your needs first.
But there’s a little secret no one tells you, self-care isn’t really about checking off a list of perfect habits. It’s about tuning in. To you. Asking yourself, “What do I really need right now?” And honouring that answer — even if it’s a nap instead of a workout, (this is sooo me, by the way – I’m such a nap-lover!) or perhaps it’s learning to saying no instead of pushing through.
