Discover Your Comfort Zone
Hi! I'm Sam, and I'm not here to present you with a picture-perfect story. My life, (like yours?) hasn't always gone to plan. It's been a five decade journey of making mistakes, navigating major upheavals, and honestly, not always 'getting it right.'
For years, I was adept at people-pleasing, had a serious lack of boundaries, and was prone to the occasional rebellious meltdown. I spent most of my life feeling like I was living way out of my comfort zone.
What changed? I stopped trying to 'fix' myself and started to get real.
I finally discovered a sense of inner calm, not through pretending the past didn't happen, but by accepting it. I learned that my messy, imperfect history may have shaped my life, but it doesn't have to define my future.
Let me tell you about one of my big, beautiful, ugly mistakes. It's a quinta—a big old chicken farm in Portugal, to be exact. I bought it with a vision for a life that was full and bustling. And for a time, it was.
But life, as it so often does, took a different turn. And my circumstances changed.
Now, I find myself with a home that is too big for one person, that needs a ton of investment I don't have, and that represents a life that is no longer mine.
For a while, I saw this as a huge failure. But now I see it for what it is: a profound lesson in the art of letting go. It's the ultimate practice in figuring out what to do when you find yourself in a life you didn't plan.
My journey of selling this beautiful, imperfect place and dreaming of a smaller, more flexible life—a life that is perfectly 'right-sized' for the woman I am today—is the very heart of the work I do here.
The Comfort Zone is a space for all of us who are standing in the middle of a life that looks different than we expected, and are bravely, messily, and beautifully figuring out the path forward, together
It's not a space for perfect people. It's a sanctuary for the perfectly imperfect — the women who have struggled, who may have sought comfort in the wrong places, and who are ready to find a better, more authentic way to connect. And in doing so find purpose.
My mission is to share the tools and mindset that helped me find my way—a blend of practical skills, a commitment to real talk, and a well-honed sense of humour. Because I believe with my whole heart that the path forward isn't about erasing our pasts, but about connecting with others who understand, and finally, truly, coming home to ourselves.
At the heart of it all, I’m a fierce believer in the power of being truly heard. I'm here to hold space for your story with curiosity, compassion and care — helping you gently reframe what’s felt heavy, and rediscover the strength, softness and wisdom that’s been there all along.
A dedicated advocate for digital wellbeing and online safety, I understand the unique challenges you might be facing when your world feels uncertain. I’m a certified coach and therapist with a background in stress management, ADHD support, art therapy, hypnotherapy, and more. My work blends traditional and creative approaches to meet you where you are — no one-size-fits-all programs here, just support that actually fits.
My 'slightly geeky' interest in technology, coupled with navigating my own life-altering events, has fueled my commitment to helping others find their "comfort zone" in the digital landscape.
Through careful research and a genuine desire to help, The Comfort Zone Community provides practical strategies and compassionate support. My aim is to equip you with the tools to navigate the digital world safely, find genuine connection when you need it most, and honour your journey in a way that feels authentic, progressive and purposeful.
I still live on my little farm in Portugal, where life moves slowly and the internet speed occasionally joins in.
Current missions include a monumental declutter, trying to swap carbs for protein (challenging), and having deep (one-sided) conversations with my two dogs. They don’t say much, but they’re very supportive.
That's me below!
